(More customer reviews)Hi, this is a review of the Huntington 41" Full Size Yellow Sunburst Dreadnought Guitar. I have lately become something of a conissour of cheap guitars (this does not mean that I will play a brick), and I hate nothing more than an ugly-sounding instrument, but I have to say that this $49.95 guitar seems like a pretty good buy for a low cost guitar. First-Appearance: I give a possible 5 out of 5 stars, this one had alot more black and tobacco around the edges than the pic above, and in my opinion, looks nicer than the pic, a somewhat 60s-vintage look, and overall very festive-looking thing that would be welcome at any casual jam particularly your Summer beach party. Sound: I give a four of possible five stars: THIS GUITAR IS LOUD, which to my mind is a very good quality in something that calls itself a dreadnought. Comes with some light strings, 11s I think and they are wierd-looking, almost dayglow orange in color. Now one string was rather noticeably buzzy, I cured this with a slight crank of the trussrod (wrench included.) Components: The tuners are a little worrysome, I hope my having to retune the thing mid song has to do with the newness of the strings and not the tuners, only time will tell. The pickguard is a flimsy piece of plastic which I immediately peeled off. Do it, because it improves the look of the guitar. The body was totally finished and painted beforehand so no fears here, just find a way to remove the gummy glue beneath.
Yes, I have thrown out some cheapy guitars of late but this one passes muster. Four stars in this case does not mean a high quality instrument, rather it means "good value if you only have $50.00 to spend on a guitar." This one cuts the mustard. Enjoy....
